July 10 - 38th Annual Middlefield Community Day
9 a.m.-4 p.m.
38th Annual community festival including Worship service, a chicken BBQ , Small Town Big Band.
This event features our Marketplace - a group of over 30 vendors including: crafts, local produce, and historical associations from the area. There will be plenty of food and live music.
The Middlefield Youth Commission will host childrens' activities on the District #1 School playground.
The District #1 Schoolhosue will be open to unveil TMHA's newest exhibits.

July 17 - Annual Meeting

Our annual election of officers.
July 24 - Walking Tour of Middlefield Hamlet Historic District with Dominick Reisen
1 - 4 p.m.
Historian Dominick Reisen, author of Middlefield and the Settling of the New York Frontier, will host a tour of the Middlefield Hamlet Historic District. Among the various Federal and Greek Revival houses making up the district, Reisen will discuss sympathetic alterations which, although not tenchically restorations, are in keeping with the overall style of the community's architecture.
July 31 - "All The live Long Day" - Railroads of the Upper Susquehanna
1 - 4 p.m.
Railroad historian Jim Loudon, who has written extensively on railroads in Otsego County, will discuss the railroads of the Upper Susquehanna area along with a video production giving an oral history of the Delaware and Hudson Railroad. He will also have copies of his books The Oneonta Roundhouse and Leatherstocking Trails available for purchase.
August 7 - Mills of Middlefield and Phoenix Mills
1 - 4p.m.
Joseph Homburger and Ronald Jennings will discuss the mills once located at these two sites
August 14 - Digitizing Your Collection
1 - 4 p.m.
TMHA is in the process of digitizing our entire photograph collection. Old, fragile images are now available for all to view in digital format! This process involves scanning the old photo which turns it into a digital image.
Are you interested in learning this process? Have you got some personal photos you would like to have digitized?
This workshop will demonstrate the process TMHA is using to digitize our photo collection. Additionally, you will be able to scan and digitize up to 10 of your personal photos if you wish. Those wishing to have personal photographes scanned to digital format must provide either a blank CD or USB thumb drive to which your newly created digital images will be store.
August 20 - Lakewood Cemetery Walking Tour
1 p.m. At the Cemetery Gate.
C. R. Jones, curator ermeritus of the New York State Historical Association and member of the Association for Gravestone Studies will lead a tour of this historic cemetery located on East Lake Road in Cooperstown. Walking only - no food or pets. Bottled water will be provided. The tour will benefit the Town of Middlefield Historical Association and the Lakewood Cemetery Association. Rain date is Sunday, August 21
August 28 - The Civil War
1 - 4 p.m.
The first annual program in a five year series that seeks to guage the local (Otsego County) response to issues up to and resulting from one of our nation's most violent times. This year, the 150th anniversary of the firing on Fort Sumter, we will try to determine the outlook of folks in Middlefield and other parts of Otsego County on national events in 1861.
This program will be led by Bob Consigli, President of the Abner Doubleday Civil War Roundtable.
October 9 - Middlefield Fall Festival & Craft Show
10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Community Festival featuring crafts, seasonal products, music, children’s activities and ghost stories.
December 4 - Christmas at the Schoolhouse.
1 - 5 p.m.
Caroling, cookie walk, music and a visit from Santa and Ms. Claus. Enjoy horse drawn rides from Town hall to the schoolhouse. Admission for the program is a can of food to benefit the local food pantry.
